About Rebuild & Renew Foundation

A story of rebuilding, gratitude, and shared courage

Rebuild & Renew Foundation was founded in 2024 by husband and wife, Aesa and Suzanne Oso. Their journey began in the middle of crisis—and grew into a lifelong commitment to serve families living through hardship.

Aesa grew up in Raqqa, Syria. In 2016, he was forced to flee his home to escape ISIS and eventually sought refuge in Greece. Life in the refugee camp brought uncertainty and loss, but it also revealed a new purpose. Aesa began organizing sports for children in the camp and working tirelessly to learn English, determined to rebuild his life and give back to the community that had taken him in.

That same year, Suzanne arrived in Greece to serve in the camp. She and Aesa met during Christmas of 2016. What began as simple English lessons soon grew into a partnership—supporting refugee families, organizing projects, and choosing to stand with people who had lost almost everything.

After five years of navigating immigration and waiting through countless delays, Aesa and Suzanne were finally able to move to the United States together in 2022. They began building their new life in Utah with deep gratitude and a shared conviction: their story was not only about survival, but about serving others.

Rebuild & Renew exists because rebuilding is possible—and renewal is powerful.

In 2024, they launched Rebuild & Renew Foundation to honor Aesa's journey as a refugee and to create meaningful impact in the communities they now call home—as well as the communities they left behind. Today, they work side by side to design projects, oversee grants, and carefully steward every proposal and gift.

Each program reflects that belief: that with dignity, transparency, and care, families can move from crisis toward stability and hope.

Our family, our calling

Today Aesa and Suzanne live in Utah with their daughter, raising their family while leading Rebuild & Renew. Every decision is shaped by their lived experience of displacement, their faith in what is possible, and their gratitude for the communities who welcomed them.

Our Mission

Rebuilding lives affected by hardship

Rebuild & Renew Foundation exists to restore stability, dignity, and opportunity for vulnerable families—locally in Utah and internationally in Syria. We focus on practical, long-term support through housing, education, healthcare, and community development.

Whether it is rebuilding a home, funding a classroom, or standing with an elderly neighbor, our aim is the same: to meet real needs with humility and care.

Our Vision

A future where families can flourish

We envision a world where vulnerable families regain stability, children receive safe and consistent education, and communities rebuild stronger than before. We believe that every child deserves a classroom, every family deserves a safe home, and every community deserves access to basic healthcare.

Our work is intentionally small and relational. We listen first, partner closely with local leaders, and build projects that honor the dignity and wisdom of the communities we serve.
